King’s Body Jewelry is a company for the modified, by the modified. My personal love for body modification has led me to a full time career selling plugs and body jewelry. Ever since I can remember I’ve had an obsession with body modification and my journey into piercing and stretching began in my early teens. My 1st experience with body modification was around age 9 or 10, I stumbled upon a National Geographic magazine at my grandparents’ house. In the article were several pictures of people with large stretched lobes, big septums, tattoos, etc. I was shocked and at the same time intrigued. It was a strange type of beauty that I had never experienced before. That always stuck with me throughout the years and I thought of it often. In the late 90’s in in my hometown of Louisville, KY the body modification scene was just beginning to become more normal and I had seen only a handful of people with stretched ears. So at age 13, I had my ears pierced at with just regular earrings at a shop in the mall and began stretching later that year.

2003 was my freshman year of college and by this point in my life I knew that body modification was something special to me even though I only had my ears stretched to a small size. That year I had my nipples and left inner conch pierced. Later that year I started doing all of my own piercings and began to stretch all of them. By 2004 I had my nipples at a 6 gauge, earlobes at 00 gauge, both inner conches at 6 gauge, septum at 0 gauge, and a lorum. This was a point in my life where I knew that body modification had become more than just an interest, it was something that had become special to me and I felt like my mods were a part of my identity as a person. It was around this time I started contemplating doing some type of work in the body modification industry.

In 2005 I was a junior in college and had been contemplating business ideas for my future. Coming from a long line of small business owners in my family, I had never really considered working for anyone else for a long term career. Over the years, I had paid hundreds of dollars to local piercing shops and could never understand how there wasn’t a business with good quality jewelry at fair prices. It seemed that all of the local piercing studios either had no selection and low quality jewelry, or just a few average pieces that were highly overpriced. This became my inspiration for King’s and my focus on the business, to provide good quality products and fair prices that the average person could afford. That year, I started the business and just filled orders out of the bedroom of my college apartment.

King’s now has become an international company and we have shipped over 50,000 orders to thousands of modified customers across the world. We have shipped to every continent in the world (yes even Antarctica) and grow bigger every day. Even though King’s has gone from a one man business to a bigger company with employees, I have always stuck to my values of providing good quality jewelry at fair prices that I had from day one and will continue to do so.
